This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
My name is Travis and I am a student at Arizona State University in the United States of America. The sequenced pieces of life that fell together to form my past have lead me to be currently studying Computer Information Systems and to work as a software and web developer for ASU. I have always had a desire to express my emotion on paper, but never really found a method or the instruction to start doing so. A recent project I was assigned at my work was to develop an online Flash game to teach elementary school students single digit addition. I would go into more details on the project but it is ultimately a distraction to where I am trying to get to here. The reason I actually made this account here on deviantART was to contact a member about using his artwork for the game I have been developing. Searching through the depths of the site, that old interest to learn how to draw surfaced and has lingered around with me for a few months now. About a week ago, I was researching ways to get started in drawing and sketching, and came across Riven Phoenix's "The Structure of Man". Human form is something that has really interested me in terms of expressing my creative emotion, and I felt as though it would be the perfect place to start. Yesterday, I received his instructional material and began my artistic journey. In an effort to subside how excited I am to begin learning how to draw the human form (and to thank Riven Phoenix), I decided I would post my development in stages from day 1. My goal is to watch at least one lesson a day (unless I need more time to correctly understand and implement a previous lesson). I would like to add that I have absolutely no artistic background in terms of drawing and sketching; this will either be an amazing documentary, or a monumental failure. I am hoping for the former! So, if you are reading this, I welcome you to my entrance of the artistic world. I'm sure it will be a long ride.
Hey mate, not sure if you still use DA but was wandering how you are getting on with the structure of man? I got the discs a couple years ago and i'm just at the finihing stages of the anatomy (lesson 167) after stopping and starting. It really is superb, once the bones are the done the real fun begins with the muscles. I reckon ill be done by tomorrow night and might finally submit some pieces by the end of the week.
I'm following the same Tutorials, though not as consistent... well, nice going so far from you, I'm watching you ^^
p.s. I'm actually beginning to develop my own game, 3d and just got started on Ogre3D but It's one of the things that made me realize I needed more knowledge about anatomy as I'm currently a one man team and therefore coder AND artist. Apart from learning how to draw humans I hope these tuts will enhance my 3D human models as well. (Just as you mentioned you are from the same fields(?))

Welcome to Deviant Art, I hope your stays as an artistic and otherwise developer are on the whole pleasant here. If anything, and I know this is plastered throughout the artistic community like a manta, keep practicing. You'll never be perfect, no one is, but practice makes better, and I would love to see what you can do when you're better.
